John Baird's fantastical flowers sit majestically amongst stylized interiors, whilst his figures bend and twist themselves into frame. Characteristically, vintage fabrics and wallpapers are often collaged into his compositions not only giving texture to the surface, but also spatial depth to the work and the resulting images are stylistically reminiscent of the modernist Australian woodblock prints.
